Atanas Ourkouzounov
Bulgarian composer/guitarist with Mie Ogura, flute  

Atanas Ourkouzounov was born in Burgas (Bulgaria) and lived in Sofia where he took up the guitar with Dimitar Doychinov. He continued his studies in France having as teachers Arnaud
Dumond, Alexandre Lagoya and Olivier Chassain. He graduated in 1997 from Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris with an unanimous Premier Prix in guitar and now teaches at the Conservatoire “Maurice Ravel”in Paris.

As composer he has been awarded with several prizes and is published by Doberman-Yppan (Canada), Henry Lemoine (France), Suvini Zerboni (Italy), Daminus (Germany), Margaux (Germany), Mel Bay (U.S.A.), D'Oz (Canada), Tuscany (U.S.A.).

Internationally famous performers have played his works, including Shin-Ichi Fukuda, Scott Tennant, Antigoni Goni, Trio de Cologne, Gruber-Maklar, Thibault Cauvin, Dimitri Illarionov, Fabio Zanon, Stanley Yates, Patrick Kearney, etc. [read more]
